Gary Friend will be presenting a talk on Intrinsic Safety Applications in the Automation Theatre 3 at 11am on the 6th of June. The talk will cover how to fit surge protection (field device & control room) into an IS loops, by looking at what the standards say & how to document the IS loop. This will be followed by how to run non-IS cables through IS trunking and then we will look at the impact of gas group & zone on IS cable lengths. We will then move onto the impact & issues with using galvanic isolators in SIL loops and finish by looking at the use of mobile devices in hazardous areas.

John Hartley from Extronics will be presenting a talk on Real Time Location Systems : Technology, Safety and Asset Management in the Automation Theatre 3 at 12 noon on the 7th of June.
